Our approach to grant development works because it concentrates on four key elements.

Dreaming: We know that it’s easy to get caught up in the day to day hustle and bustle of keeping your organization afloat. That it’s hard to take thoughtful actions never mind spend time reflecting and planning. But, dreaming is an essential part of the successful grants development process.

If we don’t dream, everything stays the same. The Grants Champion approach includes time to really think about what’s possible. We work with you to create an achievable vision.

Expertise - Ours and Yours: We believe that you know what needs to be done. You’ve studied the issue or seen the same problems year after year. You’ve been in the field long enough to have excellent ideas and creative approaches to tackle tough issues.

The Grants Champion process will challenge you to truly define the root causes of the problems that you see and create solutions that you know will work – not that will simply sound good to a funder. When you clearly and sincerely articulate your vision and plan, funders will respond.

Grants Champion doesn’t help you how to win grants. We teach you how to dream big, embrace your know-how, and plan from your heart so that you will make a difference.

Idealism is great but success is under-girded by expertise. We share with you everything that we know from years of experience writing compelling proposals.

You don’t have to know someone who knows someone to win funding. But, you do need to understand how the system works.

Grants Champion training and services are provided by Jane Hexter. Jane has raised over $22 million and written over 50 successful proposals in the last few years alone. She is a confirmed extrovert and loves to share her passion of the grants world with others. We ask that you bring your expertise into the mix. We will pass along our knowledge to you so that you can take effective action.

Action: Dreaming, planning and learning are all well and good but without action they are fruitless. We want to help you to bring joy and hope into our world by righting injustices – large and small. What the heck is "heart-centered grant writing?" Good question, I thought you'd never ask.

Heart-Centered grant writing is developing a strong alignment between your heart, your organization and your community. When that happens synchronicity flows and your community thrives. The core of this approach is helping your heart to feel the safety and love on which you can base your actions.

Without this feeling of home, you can have the best performance in the world, and the most comprehensive knowledge, but you never feel settled and never truly thrive.

We believe that when you write with power from your heart and top it off with a sprinkle of fun you’ve got a recipe for success. The heart-centered approach ensures that when you're slammed up against a deadline (or several) you can feel the depths that support you and help you through those frantic moments.

Bringing healing changes the game entirely. I was recently faced with completing an entire proposal component worth 40% of the score in just three days. I brought these practices into my heart, felt the stress and pressure, and settled in to tackle the project head-on and have fun.

The result? The proposal was finished, done well, everyone remained cheerful and I didn't work outside of my usual work hours - indeed I even took time off to go to the dentist and teach a class. We can do this work and thrive at the same time.
